Standing Seam Metal Roofing
Metal roofs (copper) date back as far as 27 B.C. Presently, metal roofs are typically manufactured using steel or aluminum since the cost of copper is prohibitive. Metal roofs are very durable in cold weather and a high percentage are made from recycled material. Usually the existing roof will also be 100% recyclable. Another advantage to a metal roof system is that they are virtually maintenance free. However, high heat conductivity of metals (particularly copper and aluminum) requires careful incorporation of insulation into the roof assembly.
